Hawaiian Airlines Reports Passengers Up 5% in September

Passenger counts improved system wide for the month of September, the third quarter, and the year-to-date, according to statistics released by Hawaiian Airlines this week.
For the month of September 2011, 691,166 passengers were transported, which is a 5% increase over September 2010. For the third quarter, 2.3 million passengers were transported or an 0.8% increase over one year ago same time period. For year-to-date, Hawaiian Airlines transported 6.5 million passengers, which was a 2.9% increase over the 2010 year-to-date figures.
On the other hand, empty seats also grew by 21.6% for the month of September over last year September, 16 % increase for the 3rd quarter and 19.5% increase year-to-date over last year this time. There were 8.9 million seats available for 2011 year-to-date with 6.5 million passengers, or 84.4% full of capacity. The capacity full was about the same for September 2011 and 3rd quarter 2011, or 84.2% and 85.2%, respectively.
