When imagining an entertaining time do you think of girls, in costume, on roller skates? If so, on October 29, the Maui Roller Girls will be having a Halloween Monster Smash bout with the Coos County roller derby girls from Oregon. This drug, alcohol and tobacco-free event is open to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kalama Park in Kihei. This will be the first out of state team to play the Maui Roller Girls.

Roller derby is fast becoming re-popularized. This high action, contact oriented sport, full of tactics and stamina, is made more accessible to the public with these incredible displays of grace, brute power and speed.

In addition to the derby girls and their antics on and off track, onlookers can purchase food from Star Anise, listen to music spun by DJ Blast, and watch Hoopnatyze at halftime.
