Weekend Round-Up: Lahaina Friday, Keali’i Reichel, Fiesta Hispana

LAHAINA SECOND FRIDAY MONTHLY TOWN PARTY Friday, February 10 on and around Front Street in Lahaina from 6-9 p.m.

This month’s Lahaina Second Friday is themed “Fall in Love with Lahaina,” in spirit of upcoming Valentines Day.

Visitors are encouraged to wear red to join in on the event’s theme of romance.

The town party will begin at 6 p.m. with a community conch shell blessing led by ‘Ulalena, followed by live music at venues such as Hard Rock Cafe, Wharf Cinema Center, Pioneer Inn, and Kimos.

Several art galleries will offer special promotions, live demonstrations, refreshments, and pupu’s:

Lahaina Restoration Foundation will continue its monthly series, Ha’ina Hou (Let the Story be Told) with presentations at both Baldwin Home Museum and The Wo Hing Museum.

Baldwin home Museum will host a video presentation by National Geographic’s underwater photographer Flip Nicklin at 7:30 p.m.

The Wo Hing Museum invites presenter Dennis Ryan at 6:30 p.m. for a lecture on the history of unique Chinese coins.

TWO SHOWS WITH KEALI’I REICHEL & HALAU KE’ALAOKAMAILE Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the MACC. Tickets sold separately for each event are $12, $35, $45, and $55. 

Pa’ia’s own risen star Keali’i Reichel will grace the Maui stage with his renowned kumu hula of Halau Ke’alaokamaile in two shows this weekend at the MACC.

Reichel’s music, chant, and hula show is full of Hawaiian tradition, exhibiting the true art of hula.

Pre-show entertainment will be provided on both performance nights starting at 6:15 p.m. in the Yokouchi Pavillion Courtyard.

Saturday’s pre-show entertainment will include performances by Halau Kauluokala and Kumu Hula Uluwehi Guerrero.

On Sunday, Na Leo Lani O Maui Community will sing led by Gale Wisehart and Uluwehi Guerrero.

LA FIESTA HISPANA Saturday, February 11 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Maui Mall in Kahului will host a hispanic-themed, day-long festival with live entertainment, food, and crafts celebrating hispanic cultures.

A schedule of performers for the day is provided below:

JOSHUA BLUE: HYPNOTIST COMEDIAN  Friday, February 10 at 9:30 p.m. at Stella Blues in Kihei. Entrance is $10.

Comedian Joshua Blue will host a riotous show featuring hypnosis and audience participation.

Trained in Las Vegas, Blue is known for his fast-paced, over-the-top act that combines two great forms of entertainment.

THE PINK PASSION PARTY Friday, February 10 at 9:30 p.m.  at Charley’s Tickets are $15.

Charley’s is celebrating Valentine’s Day early with a “sexy” house party featuring DJ’s Paul “Diva Pimp” Gotel and Satdeva.

The Extravadancers will break it down on the Charley’s stage as lasers jet about the bar.
