Committee on the Status of Women Launches Survey

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) has launched a survey to gauge the status of women in Maui County.

The Committee is asking the public to take 5 minutes to consider the rights of women and how the Committee may better advocate.

“We encourage everyone to participate in this survey and are interested in both female and male perspectives,” said Committee chair Barbara Potopowitz, in a written statement.

The CSW encourages employers and organizations to share this information with their employees and members.  Information will be gathered through June 2012.

There are several ways to voice your opinion:  on-line at the county website at http://mauicounty.gov/cswsurvey; by obtaining a paper survey by calling Michelle in the Mayor’s office at 808-270-7855 or Committee Chair Barbara Potopowitz at 808-280-4707 or by stopping at the Committee’s information table at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on Saturday, March 24th from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The Maui County Committee on the Status of Women was established by State statute in 1970 and is a seven-member volunteer group of Mayoral appointees that advocate for social justice, educates women on their rights, educates women to vote, engages in political processes, gather’s information on women’s issues, promotes women’s equality, and serves as a resource through programming, public education, and citizen participation.
