15 Vehicle Break-ins on Maui Mar. 11 to 17, 2012

There were a total of 15 vehicle break-ins reported on Maui over a seven day period between March 11 and 17, 2012.

The incidents included the break-in of five construction vehicles in Lahaina.  There were also two vehicle break-ins in Haiku, two in Kahului, and various other incidents across the island. The break-ins involved (3) Jeeps, (3) Fords, (4) Caterpillar tractors, and a variety of other vehicles.

A complete run-down of incidents is listed below:

Haiku:

• Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 9:40 a.m.:  Hana Highway at the Huelo fruit stand.  2011 Black Jeep Wrangler.
• Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 10 a.m.:  Hana Highway at Twin Falls.  2011 Black Buick Regal.

Kahului:

• Sunday, March 11, 2012, 1:10 p.m.:  Hana Highway at 24 Hour Fitness.  2000 Green Ford Ranger.
• Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 12 p.m.:  Alahao Street at Kanaha Beach Park.  2002 Green Mazda B2000.

Kapalua:

• Monday, March 12, 2012, 11 a.m.:  Honoapiilani Highway near Mile Post 34.  2012 Red Jeep Wrangler.

Kihei:

• Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 8:45 a.m.:  Piikea Avenue at the Piilani Shopping Center parking lot.  2010 Black Ford four-door sedan.

Lahaina:

• Monday, March 12, 2012, 4 p.m.:  Shaw Street bypass construction site, work zone 1:  Yellow Caterpillar Tractor Dozer model D10T
• Monday, March 12, 2012, 4 p.m.:  Shaw Street bypass construction site, work zone 1:  Yellow Caterpillar Tractor Truck
• Monday, March 12, 2012, 4 p.m.:  Shaw Street bypass construction site, work zone 2:  Yellow Caterpillar Tractor Excavator Model ZAXIS 160.
• Monday, March 12, 2012, 4 p.m.:  Shaw Street at the Lahaina Aquatic Center:  Yellow Caterpillar Tractor Dozer Model D6RXL.
• Monday, March 12, 2012, 4 p.m.:  Shaw Street at the Lahaina Bypass Construction site, work zone 2:  Yellow Dynapac Roller Construction Equipment.

Maalaea:

• Thursday, March 15, 2012, 10:30 a.m.:  Maalaea Road at the Maui Ocean Center.  2000 Red Chevy Tracker.

Makawao:

• Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2 p.m.: Intersection of Olinda and Piiholo Road at the Makawao State Forest Reserve.  2011 Silver Jeep two-door station wagon.

Wailea:

• Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 6:30 p.m.:  Kalai Waa Street at the Wailea Fairway Villas.  2010 White Nissan Altima.

Wailuku:

• Thursday, March 15, 2012, 3 p.m.:  ‘Iao Valley Road at Kepaniwai Park.  2008 Maroon Ford multi-purpose vehicle.
