Kaluakoi Molokai Brushfire Burns 5 Acres

Maui firefighters battled a five acre brush fire in Kaluakoi on Molokai over the weekend.

The incident was reported at around 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012 in an area of brush next to the old golf course.

Responding crews had the fire under control by 3:40 p.m. and extinguished shortly after 6 p.m.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and there were no monetary losses.

Units responding to the scene included Engine-9, Engine-4, Engine-12, and Tanker-4, as well as two tankers from the Department of Public Works.
