Mokulele Accident Near Central Maui Baseyard

UPDATE: 7:45 a.m. 7/31/12:  The Mokulele Highway is now completely OPEN in both directions.  The road was closed in the Kahului-bound direction earlier today because of a traffic accident reported at around 5:30 a.m. fronting the Central Maui Baseyard.

UPDATE: 6:31 a.m. 7/31/12:  Maui police have closed the Kahului-bound lane of the Mokulele Highway in South Maui due to a traffic accident.  Kahului-bound traffic was being routed onto North Kihei Road at last report. Kihei bound traffic on Mokulele Highway remained open.  The traffic accident was reported before 5:30 a.m. near the entrance to the Central Maui Baseyard.

ROAD ADVISORY 5:41 a.m. 7/31/12: Maui police have closed Mokulele Highway at the Piilani Highway intersection in South Maui due to a traffic accident. Kahului bound traffic was being routed onto North Kihei Road at last report. The accident was reported before 5:30 a.m.
