The accident was reported at 8:54 a.m. at 470 Hana Highway near Dairy Road at the Hawthorne CAT heavy equipment dealership building.
County officials described the incident as an industrial accident.
Maui County Paramedics Association spokesperson Ryan Joslin said that upon arrival, medics found the patient unresponsive and pinned up against the piece of equipment.
