4 Maui Fire Fighters Promoted to Captain

The Maui Fire Department Chief Jeffrey A. Murray today announced the promotion of four members to the rank of captain.
The promotions are for Fire Fighter IIIs Bram Denhaan, Geoffrey Bogar, Lee Theros, and Shawn Rogers.
“Congratulations go out to these men who have worked very hard to reach this point in the advancement of their careers,” said fire department officials in a press release today.
“The department as well as the community will benefit greatly from the training and experience these men will bring into their new leadership positions.”
Fire Fighter III Bram Denhaan is a 19 year veteran of the department. His first assignment as captain will be with the “A” Watch at the Hoolehua Fire Station on Molokai. When Denhaan joined the department on March 1, 1994, he began his career as a Fire Fighter I with Engine 11 in Napili. Denhaan has also served assignments with Engine 6 in Kihei, Rescue 10 out of Kahului, the Training Bureau, Tanker 10 in Kahului, and Ladder 14 in Wailea. He is also a CPR First Responder and Community Emergency Response Team instructor.
Fire Fighter III Geoffrey Bogar is an 18 year veteran of the MFD. Bogar joined the department on Nov. 16, 1994 and has served out assignments with Engine 6 in Kihei, Engine 3 in Lahaina, Ladder 3 in Lahaina, Rescue 10 in Kahului, Engine 14 in Wailea, and Tanker 8 on Lanai. He is currently assigned to Rescue 10 and is still awaiting his new captain assignment.
Fire Fighter III Lee Theros, is a 15 year MFD veteran. Theros will be assigned to the “B” Watch at the Kaunakakai Fire Station on Molokai under his new promotion. Theros joined the department on August 1, 1997, as a Fire Fighter I at Engine 4 in Kaunakakai. Over the years, he has also served out assignments with the Lahaina Ladder company, and the Tanker out of Kaunakakai.
Fire Fighter III Shawn Rogers has served for more than 13 years. He will be assigned to the “B” Watch at the Hoolehua Fire Station on Molokai. Rogers joined the department on May 3, 1999 spending six years as a Fire Fighter I on Ladder 3 out of Lahaina. Rogers also worked with Rescue 10 in Kahului, Ladder 3 in lahaina, and the Pukoo Fire Station on Molokai.
Promotions for all four individuals goes into effect on Nov. 1, 2012.
