Kukui Mall Theatre Closes

The Consolidated Theatres at Kukui Mall closed after their last show time Thursday, Nov. 15, leaving Kihei without a movie theater.
The Kukui Mall four-plex movie theater was home to the annual Maui International Film Festival and one of the anchor tenants of the Kukui Mall, conveniently located across from Kalama Park on South Kihei Road.

“The land lease for the property expires on November 30, at which time Consolidated Theatres will return the property to the landowner,” Rod Tengan, the regional manager for Consolidated Theatres said in a statement to the Maui News last month.
The theater had been in operation for 20 years at the Kukui Mall and will certainly be missed.
