Man Stuck in Kipahulu Pool, Rescue Averted

A man who was reportedly stuck in a pool of water on the Pipiwai Trail in Kipahulu, managed to make his way out on his own, according to fire officials.

A call via land-line reporting the incident, was received at 2:33 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

Crews from the Maui Fire Department in Hana responded to the report which had indicated that the man was stuck for over an hour.

As crews were making their way to the individual, officials say the man appeared on the trail, and did not require any medical attention.

Authorities say the man managed to make his way out on his own.
