The National Weather Service has issued a small craft advisory until 6 p.m. Monday, June 24, for Māʻalaea Bay on Maui, the Pailolo Channel between Maui and Molokaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island leeward and southeast waters, and the ʻAlenuihāhā Channel between Hawaiʻi and Maui.

Forecasters from the NWS say winds will be blowing from the east at 25 knots; and seas will be 8 to 11-feet.

The conditions are expected to be especially hazardous to small craft.

The NWS advises those operating smaller vessels and inexperienced mariners to avoid navigating in the forecast conditions.
