Perhaps the ghost allegedly haunting the Iao Theater next door is messing with adjoining spaces.

Less than a year after opening their doors, Old Wailuku Grill on Market Street has closed.

The restaurant informed potential diners of a temporary closing on Aug. 11 due to a waterline repair.

This Monday, a Facebook post announced “we regret to inform you that Old Wailuku Grill is now permanently ‘closed for business’! Molly Wilson is available for your private party & catering needs and may be contacted via Facebook private message. (sic)

The spot was vacated by Café O’Lei last October (which relocated and took over the Makawao Steakhouse Restaurant) and reopened the following month as Old Wailuku Grill.

It’s unknown whether the waterline issue was related to the decision to permanently close the restaurant.
