Maui Police Seek Suspect in ID Theft Case

The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary and ID theft investigation.

According to Maui police, the burglary was reported at a Pukalani residence on Oct. 29, 2012.

During the incident, police say documents containing the victim’s personal and confidential information were taken from the Hiwalani Loop home by an unidentified individual or individuals.

In a separate incident, reported on Nov. 3, 2012, police say a woman attempted to open a line of credit in the victim’s name at the Macy’s department store in Kahului.

Police released store surveillance images of the alleged offender and a partial description of the woman, saying she has a tattoo just above her right ankle.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the individual is asked to call Maui police at 244-6495.
