The Senate Ways and Means Committee, led by Chair David Ige, will conduct Maui Island site visits today and tomorrow.

The visits are intended to provide committee members with the opportunity to receive updates on the status and progress of various programs, projects, and concerns in respective communities.

The schedule includes stops today at Kahului Airport, Easter Seals Maui, the J Walter Cameron Center, MEO, the Maui Memorial Medical Center, and Māʻalaea Small Boat Harbor.

Tomorrow’s site visits will focus on East Maui and will include stops at Hāna Airport, Hāna Pier, the Maui Invasive Species Committee, Hāna Health Center, Hāna bridges, and Hāna High & Elementary School.

Maui Committee members include Senators J Kalani English and Gil Keith-Agaran.  They will be joined by fellow members, as well as Maui colleague Senator Roz Baker.

The Senate WAM committee has oversees legislative items relating to overall state financing policies, revenue enhancement, taxation, and debt management.
