Action sports brand Vans will open a store at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center center in late summer, becoming the first official Vans retailer on the neighbor islands, mall managers announced today.

“The brand’s roots in Hawaiian surf culture and talent for creating footwear and apparel for an active lifestyle make it a natural fit for our community and a perfect addition to Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center,” said Todd A. Vines, marketing manager for the shopping center in a press release statement.

According to the Vans website, the company currently has official stores at the Ala Moana and Pearl Ridge shopping centers on Oʻahu. Here on Maui, the retailer currently carries select styles of Vans shoes at Journeys and PacSun at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului.

In 2012, Vans collaborated with Sig Zane Designs from Hilo, Hawaiʻi, in their release of a special limited edition “Mauka to Makai” themed shoe pack through its Vault line.

Vans also supports and promotes the action sports lifestyle through the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing in Hawaiʻi.
