Road reconstruction continues this week along Papa Avenue between Kea and One Street through Friday, Sept. 19, according to traffic signage in the area.

The section of road is located between Kea, north of Lihikai Elementary School, and One Street near the Ala Lani United Methodist Church.

The road remains open, but the northbound lane is under reconstruction, so traffic is being shifted to the southbound lanes, with signage posted and traffic control measures in place.

Various stages of the project stretch along Papa Avenue between Kaʻahumanu and Puʻunēnē Avenues.

Maui Master Builders submitted a low bid for the project in November 2013, according to Building Industry Magazine.

The company began work on the project on Aug. 25 for the section of road between Makaliʻi Street and Hina Avenues.

Two weeks ago, work included a portion of Papa Avenue between Hina and Kahiki Street.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and drive with caution in the latest road work area.
