Man Arrested for Alleged Felony Abuse of Girlfriend on Lānaʻi

A man was arrested and charged with felony abuse of a household member following an alleged physical altercation with his live-in girlfriend on Lānaʻi, police said.

The charges stem from an an alleged incident on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

Police say the 50-year-old female victim reported that she was in an argument with her live-in boyfriend, Shane Nacnac, 42, of Hilo, when the fight turned physical.

The woman reported the incident four days later on Sept. 23, alleging that Nacnac grabbed her by the neck and allegedly choked her, according to police.

Police say Nacnac was later arrested and charged with felony abuse of a household family member, and was being held in lieu $5,000 bail.
