Sugar Beach Events Opens to Public with Benefit for Imua Family Services
By Vanessa Wolf
Next Saturday, November 15, Sugar Beach Events – an “upscale, full-service wedding and special event venue” that opened in the Fall of 2013 – invites the public to “Moonlit Movies on Sugar Beach.”
The event includes dinner and a showing of the 1963 flick Charade, starring Audrey Hepburn and Carey Grant. The “upscale gourmet picnic dinner” doubles as a benefit event for Imua Family Services.
The meal opens with a Caesar salad and is followed by the choice of three entrees:
- Pasta Primavera with Portabella Mushrooms and Truffle Butter
- Herbed Chicken Breast with Rice Pilaf and Fresh Roasted Vegetables
- Asian Braised Short Ribs with Rice Pilaf
Attendees can then anticipate a dessert of two mini french macaroons, fresh popped popcorn and cotton candy. Water and a gourmet coffee station will also be provided as well as a cash bar.
Chef Lee Anderson of Sugar Beach Events noted, “I wanted to be able to do something to give back to this island that has given me so much. Who doesn’t love a great classic movie? I thought this was a perfect way for my neighbors and kama’aina to be able to come and experience the venue.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs or blankets and – despite the presence of popcorn and cotton candy – the event is limited to those 21 and over.
It all kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and advance reservations are required. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online or by calling 808-856-6151.
