Maui Crime Log Nov. 2-8: Burglaries, Thefts, Break-ins

Maui police responded to 20 burglaries, 8 vehicle thefts, and 17 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Nov. 2 to 8, 2014.

Of the 8 vehicle thefts, two vehicles have since been recovered.  The most vehicle theft reports for the week were in Kahului, where three incidents were reported.  Vehicle thefts were down from the 10 incidents reported a week earlier.

Burglary incidents also decreased with 20 burglaries reported over the week, down from 26 the week before.  The greatest number of incidents were reported in the Kahului area where eight incidents were reported, followed by Kīhei and Wailuku, which had four incidents each.

Vehicle break-ins were down to 17 from 20 reported the week before.  Ten of the incidents were in Kahului, three of them at on Papa Avenue, three on Papa Place, and three at shopping centers across the central Maui area.
