The Fairmont Kea Lani property in South Maui announced the completion of a three year, $70 million renovation project.

Improvements spanned the 22-acre Wailea property, and included: the $5.1 million rebuild of Kō restaurant; the debut of the Willow Stream Spa in January 2014; the renovation of each one-bedroom suite with new contemporary designs; and refreshed décor at the resorts two-story villas.

“The resort is in better shape today than the day it opened,” said General Manager, Charles Head in a company press release. “The addition of a signature restaurant and an award-winning spa, coupled with refreshed suites and villas make for a top-notch resort experience. We’re eager to share the many improvements with guests this year,” he said.

The resort’s 413 one-bedroom suites were renovated to include a ceramic tile entry with granite countertop, new carpet, furniture, lighting and local artwork.

The Kea Lani’s 37 two-story villas were also refreshed with new outdoor and indoor furniture, as well as new carpet, décor and lighting.

The 9,00 square foot spa features Hawaiian-inspired treatments and amenities such as Maui rain showers and a pālolo mud bar.

The remodeled resort also showcases the diverse culinary history of the sugarcane plantation era at the rebuilt  Kō restaurant, featuring dishes with influence from Hawaiʻi, China, the Phillipines, Portugal, Korea, and Japan.

Led by Executive Chef, Tylun Pang, hotel executives say the menu features family recipes and utilizes over 90% local produce, fish and beef.

Hotel executives released information today saying travelers can experience the newly remodeled resort firsthand at 20% off the best available rate through April 2015 as part of a Seasonal Savers offer.
