Monsanto Hawaiʻi is now accepting applications for two scholarship programs for graduating high school seniors statewide. The two awards–the Monsanto Hawaiʻi Life Sciences Scholarship and the Monsanto Hawaiʻi Agricultural Scholarship, are available to students who have been accepted or are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

Up to 10 scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded for the Life Sciences Scholarship in 2015. Students interested in a life sciences degree (including agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, genetics, horticulture, plant physiology, chemistry, crop science and soil science) are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

The Hawaiʻi Agricultural Scholarship was established in 2011 to encourage students interested in a career in agriculture or a related field (including botany, genetics, horticulture, plant physiology, crop science or soil science). Eligible students must have been accepted or be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution other than the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa or Oregon State University, and be pursuing a degree in one of the aforementioned subjects. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2015.

A separate Monsanto Scholarship is available to students pursuing a degree in Agricultural Sciences at UH Mānoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources. Contact Dr. Charles Kinoshita for more information.

Oregon State University students majoring in an Agricultural Science or science area are also eligible for a separate Monsanto Scholarship. Contact Paul Dorres for more information and to obtain an application.

Eligible students can apply for the Monsanto Hawaiʻi Life Sciences or Hawaiʻi Agricultural Scholarships by downloading an application online or by calling (808) 685-8664.
