A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Pailolo, Kaiwi and ʻAlenuihāhā channels as well as Māʻalaea Bay and waters north of Moloka’i and Maui through 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. East winds around 25 knots and rough seas up to 12 feet are forecasted. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions. (The advisory for Maui windward waters and the Kaiwi channel may expire at 6:00 a.m. on Monday.)

Partly cloudy skies are expected today with scattered windward and mauka showers. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast for leeward areas across Maui County. Trade winds are expected from 15 to 20 mph with high temperatures from 80° to 85° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations.

Showers are likely for windward areas with mostly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy skies are expected for leeward areas. Trade winds are expected from 15 to 25 mph with low temperatures from 67° to 72°.
Looking Ahead
Seasonable and locally breezy trade winds are expected through the upcoming week, with passing clouds and showers favoring mainly the windward and mountain areas. Showers will be most active during the night and morning hours, and are forecasted to occasionally spread leeward on the smaller islands.
