Greetings fellow wait-until-the-very-last-second tax return doers!

Ready to blow off some steam and forget about Uncle Sam for a few hours?

Montage Kapalua Bay is hosting award-winning cocktail artist (and so much more) Matthew Biancaniello as he brings his unique “Eat Your Drink” program to Maui for the first time.

The resort notes that Biancaniello is a “nationally renowned cocktail chef, author, self-taught mixologist and event visionary whose career has been exploding” over the past two years.

Case in point, Harper Collins is publishing his first cocktail book, EAT YOUR DRINK, in November of 2015.

Having been featured in Instyle, Imbibe, Bon Appetit, Saveur, Los Angeles Times and the New York Times, his Eat Your Drink events at the Montage promise to deliver an abundance of handcrafted seasonal and surprising creations.

“My ‘eat your drink’ philosophy is part practical, part art, and all organic,” says Biancaniello. “Creations are based off of farm-fresh and seasonal ingredients and unlikely pairings. Fresh ingredients and my hunger for experimentation combine as my creativity sets loose, each drink an opportunity to introduce a new way of tasting to cocktail consumption.”

What does he mean by “unlikely,” you may wonder.

Well, alcoholic ice creams with sea urchin and squid ink for one.

Chew on that for a minute.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, er, adult beverage, then make a note that tomorrow, April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m., Biancaniello will meet and greet guests during “DRINK UP AT CANE AND CANOE.”

At this interactive event, expect the cocktail chef to whip up a special drink menu of uniquely crafted cocktails to pair with the restaurant’s bar menu.

Reservations are recommended as the event will have limited seating.

Then, on Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m., Biancaniello will join Cane and Canoe’s Chef Riko Bartolome for the “COLLABORATIVE CHEF DINNER.”

The duo have created a special food and drink pairing menu featuring innovative interpretations using locally sourced products.

The event is $95 per person and once again, reservations are encouraged as seating at the single 6 p.m. time slot is limited.

Guests can book via Open Table or call 808-662-6681 for reservations.
