Treat Dad to the ‘Ultimate’ Father’s Day Brunch
By Maui Now Staff
Clearly attempting to outdo themselves, the Mākena Beach & Golf Resort is planning what they have billed as the “ultimate Father’s Day Brunch.”
This Sunday June 21, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the resort’s Molokini Bar & Grille “turns into the ultimate man cave for the whole family, offering an enhanced brunch menu that includes dad’s favorite brunch and pupu fare, full screen TVs to watch the final round of the US Golf Open and a complimentary Maui Brewery craft beer flight for all fathers.”
Chef De Cuisine Kurt Lesmerises’ menu features home-style buttermilk pancakes, thick-cut smoked bacon, Makena’s signature eggs Benedict and the chef’s Grand Marnier soufflé French toast.
Over at the carving station, anticipate Oven-roasted herb and mustard-crusted steamship round of beef with au jus and creamy horseradish sauce and Filipino Lechon, crispy skin Huli Huli pig served with the traditional Mang Tomas sauce.
The ice bar offers assorted fresh sashimi, poke, peel-n-eat shrimp and crab legs and a made-to-order sushi station featuring spicy tuna rolls, shrimp tempura rolls and California hand rolls.
Its not over yet.
Hot selections include Beef Tenderloin with wild spring mushroom ragu; Grlled Hawaiian Kajiki (Blue Marlin); South Maui BBQ Baby Back Ribs with ancho butter grilled corn; and Spicy and Crispy Fried Chicken Wings.
Top it off with warm malasadas, chocolate mousse pie o the special beer flight tasting of select craft beers from Maui Brewery gifted to all fathers over 21 years of age.
For the event, the brunch is adopting a golfing theme with golf-inspired décor and flat screen TVs tuned to the final round of the US Golf open.
Offered at $55 per adult and $25 per child (ages 5-12), Mākena’s Father’s Day Brunch will also feature live entertainment.
