Today
We expect high temperatures from 85° to 90°. Variable winds are expected up to 15 mph with local sea breezes developing for leeward areas in the afternoon. Mostly clear mornings with isolated windward showers and afternoon cloud cover and scattered showers for leeward areas.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
Variable winds are expected up to 15 mph tonight with local land breezes developing especially for leeward spots as the night progresses. Partly cloudy skies and isolated showers to start but clearing as the land breeze takes hold. Low temperatures from 70° to 75° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Weakening trade winds are expected to lead to local afternoon sea breeze and nighttime land breeze over leeward areas. Low clouds and showers will favor the interior and leeward sections each afternoon and evening, with some clouds and showers over windward and mauka sections mainly at night and during the morning. Increasing showers may occur by mid-week over the Big Island (possibly moving as far north as Maui) as tropical moisture moves up over the eastern end of the state.
