Hazy With Heavy Rainfall Possible Today

A High Surf Advisory is posted for east facing shores of Moloka’i and Maui through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Surf heights of 5 to 8 feet are expected. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Today
Today we expect high temperatures from 85° to 90°. East winds are expected around 15 mph. Partly sunny skies are expected. Numerous morning showers are forecasted for windward and mauka areas with scattered showers in the afternoon. Scatterd showers are expected for leeward areas with locally heavy rainfall possible and hazy skies.

Tonight
East winds are expected up to 15 mph tonight. Partly cloudy skies with isolated showers for leeward areas. Windward spots are expected to get scattered showers after midnight. Low temperatures from 70° to 75° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Light-east southeast flow will continue through the day Thursday. A somewhat unstable airmass along with sufficient moisture at the surface will likely result in some moderate to heavy showers at times through Wednesday. Trade winds will briefly strengthen from Thursday night through Friday night. An increase in showers and humidity is expected this weekend as remnant moisture from a former tropical cyclone moves across Hawaii this weekend.
