Man Accused of Stabbing Girlfriend Arrested Following Altercation
Maui police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the alleged abuse of his girlfriend following an argument at a Pāʻia home on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 2015.
Maui police say Keola Vasconcellos, who has no local address, was arrested at around 9:26 a.m. and charged with one count each of second degree assault and abuse of a family or household member.
According to police reports, the victim, a 45-year-old Pāʻia woman, reported that she was allegedly “stabbed multiple times” by her boyfriend following an argument.
Officers Eric Grundy, Justin Endo, and Kyle Badayos investigated the complaint by responding to a home located along the Hāna Highway in Pāʻia at around 9:12 a.m.
Police say the woman was transported by medics to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Vasconcellos remained in police custody at last report with bail set at $6,000.
