The Mākena Beach & Golf Resort has partnered again with the Maui Chapter of Child & Family Service to donate holiday gifts to children from low income families and Hawaiʻi’s foster care programs.

On Monday Dec. 21, 2015, employees from Mākena Beach & Golf Resort presented more than 160 keiki gifts to the nonprofit’s program secretary and representative Joyce Natividad.

“Each year our resort places a giving tree within our resort lobby and in the employee cafeteria, each tree has tags with the names and interests of a child in need, this year the resort’s employees, guests and other community members have donated over 160 gifts, a 30% increase in donations from the year previous,” said Kathleen Collins Human Resources Director, Mākena Beach & Golf Resort.  “It’s a wonderful tradition and partnership that we are proud to continue each year,” said Collins.

The gifts were collected by representatives with Maui Child & Family Service prior to the Christmas holiday for delivery to the kids on Christmas Eve.

“Each year we receive more and more donations from the Mākena team.  It is so wonderful to see all the donated gifts proudly on display when we drive up to Mākena each year,” said Natividad.

Program representatives say Maui Child & Family Service is Hawaiʻi’s oldest and most comprehensive non-profit human services organization dedicated to the betterment of Hawaiʻi’s children and families.
