Fire Burns Brush at Old Pioneer Mill Property

A fire burned a small 30 by 60 foot area of brush on old Pioneer Mill property in Lahaina on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 near Lahainaluna Road and Kuhua Street.

Lahaina firefighters arrived at 1:14 p.m. and found that employees and two water tankers from West Maui Land Company had already knocked down the fire.

Lahaina crews called the fire completely extinguished at 1:49 p.m.

The cause of the fire was undetermined.

Crews from Lahaina and Nāpili responded to the incident.
