NCL to Sell Polynesian Adventure Tours to Roberts Hawaiʻi

Today, Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Lines announced its intent to sell Polynesian Adventure Tours and Lūʻau Kalamaku to Honolulu-based Roberts Hawaiʻi. While the transaction has not yet closed, and remains subject to PUC review and approval, Roberts Hawaiʻi responded to the announcement.

Percy Higashi, President and Chief Operating Officer, Roberts Hawaiʻi issued a statement saying he believes the transaction “is a sound decision” for both companies.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to create value for our company and the employees at both operations; and offer an even higher level of ground transportation service to state residents and our visitor industry,” said Higashi in a statement.

Before the transaction can be closed it will be reviewed by the Hawaiʻi Public Utilities Commission. During this process, Higashi said, “it will be business as usual for both companies, and no changes will be made to our operations.”

Once the transaction has been completed, Higashi said it is his intent is to maintain both brands in the marketplace.

“As the transaction is still pending, there are limits on what we can share at this time. We will be able to provide updated information after the PUC approval process is complete,” said Higashi.
