To celebrate Maui’s humpback whale visitors, local author Gill McBarnet will read her popular children’s book, The Whale Who Wanted to Be Small, in the Hawaiians and the Sea Exhibit section of the Maui Ocean Center on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11.30 a.m.

McBarnet will be accompanied by a MOC naturalist, who will answer questions about whales.

The reading will be followed by a coloring activity. Then McBarnet will go to MOC’s Gift Shop for an autograph session from noon to 1.30 p.m.
