The parking lot for the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge Coastal Boardwalk will be temporarily closed to traffic starting on Monday, March 21, 2016 due to construction.
The US Fish & Wildlife Service is working with contractor ʻOhana Industries to replace the Trex decking along the entire Kealia Coastal boardwalk.
The parking lot will be closed for approximately five to ten days for public safety until construction is completed.
The Kealia Coastal Boardwalk will remain open for wildlife observation with limited access Monday through Sunday, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; however visitors must access the boardwalk from Sugar Beach.
The Kealia Coastal Boardwalk is located on North Kīhei Road between the towns of Kīhei and Māʻalaea.
