The Ha‘ikū Ho‘olaule‘a & Flower Festival, a day-long community celebration and fundraiser for Ha‘ikū Elementary School, the Ha‘ikū Boys & Girls Club and the Ha‘ikū Community Association, is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school.

Ha‘ikū Elementary uses the funds for extracurricular activities, such as art, music, science and sports.

Admission is free.

Maui residents and visitors alike are invited to spend the day, bring their families and enjoy a day of community festivities.

The theme of this year’s ho‘olaule‘a is “Keiki to kūpuna, growing hand in hand.”

Guests are encouraged to relax in lawn chairs and enjoy live entertainment, including Yum Yum Beast, Hot Apple Pie, Dr. Nat and Rio Ritmo, Uncle Richard Ho‘opi‘i, Crazy Fingers, Divino and the Maui Ohana Band, and more.

Participating food vendors will include Milagros, Three’s Bar & Grill, Life Foods, Habibi, Café Mambo, Al’s BBQ Pit and the Ha‘ikū PTA.

The event will also include a bake sale, one of the largest silent auctions on Maui, floral design and lei making contests, a Ha‘ikū historical display, Hawaiian cultural activities, the Keiki Zone and more.

This year, the Keiki Zone will include water activities, mechanical bull rides, pony rides, face painting, mini golf and the fifth-grade cakewalk.

The Ha‘ikū PTA will also offer face painting, carnival games, free art projects and Hawaiian cultural activities.
