Q: When are they going to fix the broken irrigation line at Ulua Beach? It’s been leaking for months. I’ve put in Request for Service and called.

A: I checked with our Maui County Department of Parks & Recreation about this, and was informed that its irrigator and the Wailea Community Association irrigator have inspected the entire park looking for leaks and testing every station.

They have determined there are no leaks and that the water running down the access road is from the neighboring development overwatering its strip of grass adjacent to the park entry.

It seems that private system’s head placement needs to be adjusted as the water is shooting into the road and then down our park entry road. WCA has called them again to inform them of the issue.
