Looking Ahead
An area of enhanced moisture associated with remnants of an old front, will approach from the north this morning and then push through the islands this afternoon and this evening. As a result, expect conditions to remain rather wet across windward and mauka areas with some of the showers drifting into leeward sections of the smaller islands as well. Trade winds are forecast to slowly return across the island chain through Monday. More typical trade wind weather is expected Tuesday through next weekend. Showers will focus primarily over windward and mauka areas through the week.
Today
Mostly cloudy skies are forecast with showers likely for windward spots. Leeward spots should be partly cloudy with isolated showers. We expect areas of haze across Maui County today. Northeast winds are expected around 15 mph. High temperatures from 83° to 88°.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
Northeast winds are expected around 15 mph. Scattered windward showers and isolated leeward showers are forecast. Low temperatures from 70° to 75°.
