High Winds Prompt Wind Advisory for Summit
Alerts (as of 1:00 a.m.)
High Surf Warning: North shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. Monday.
High Surf Advisory: East shores of Maui through 6 p.m. Monday.
Gale Warning: Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Small Craft Advisory: All remaining coastal waters due to east winds 20 to 30 knots. Posted through Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Wind Advisory: Islands of Lana’i and Kaho’olawe through 6 p.m. Monday for east winds from 25 to 35 mph, gusting to 50 mph. The summit of Haleakala is also under a wind advisory with winds from 35 to 55 mph, gusting to 65 mph.

Looking Ahead
Gusty strong trades will continue through the first half of the week. Clouds and showers are forecast for mainly windward and mauka spots in the morning and overnight hours. The breezy trade winds are expected to carry some of these showers into the leeward sides of the smaller islands too.
