Small Craft Advisory: Windward waters of Maui County through 6 a.m. Thursday.

High Surf Warning: North and west Molokai and north shore of Maui through 6 a.m. Thursday.

Flash Flood Watch: Through late tonight. A disturbance will strengthen and pass over the islands later today and tonight. While isolated heavy showers could develop over all islands today, the main threat for heavy showers and thunderstorms will be along a band of moisture currently stalled near Maui and the Big Island. This band is expected to move north tonight and Thursday.

Looking Ahead

Unsettled weather, with heavy rain and thunderstorms is possible through Thursday a strong disturbances passes over the state. Heavy rain is most likely along a stalled band of moisture which is currently near Maui and the Big Island. This band should go north this evening through Thursday which should shift the unsettled weather up to the north of the state with gradually improving conditions for Maui and the Big Island. A more settled weather pattern is forecast for the weekend.

Today 

We have northeast winds today around 10 to 20 mph with afternoon sea breezes for leeward sides. High temperatures are forecast from 76° to 81°. Partly sunny with windward showers likely and morning sunshine for leeward spots with clouds building and scattered showers in the afternoon. Locally heavy showers and a chance of thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon as well. If thunderstorms do develop they can be accompanied by gusty winds.

Tonight 

Northeast winds are forecast around 15 mph tonight. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected for Maui County with scattered showers and a chance of thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall. Low temperatures from 67° to 72°.
