OluKai SUP Race Postponed Due to Weather Related Safety Conditions
Today’s OluKai SUP race is postponed due to weather related safety conditions.
The OluKai Fun Paddle is canceled.
All racers and attendees are invited to Kanahā Beach Park for a complimentary lū‘au starting at 1:30 p.m. today, Saturday, April 29, 2017.
The tentative rescheduled start of the SUP race is at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, pending weather.
The OluKai OC1/2 race will start Sunday, April 30 at 1 p.m.
Updated check-in and registration details:
Sunday April 30, Maliko Bay
SUP racers 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
OC1/2 racers 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Shuttles will run from Kanahā Beach Park to Maliko beginning at 6:30 a.m. for SUP only and 10:30 a.m. for OC1/2.
All other OluKai Ho’olaule’a festival activities at Kanahā Beach Park are planned to run on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.
In addition to honoring the Polynesian tradition of paddling, contestants and the public will also celebrate the Hawaiian cultural practice of pa‘i‘ai (pounding cleaned and steamed taro into a gummy mass) as part of the Ama OluKai Giveback initiative in collaboration with Hui Aloha ʻĀina Momona at the lū‘au scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
