Hana Hou: Rita Rudner Returns to Maui, July 28
Star of Las Vegas’ Longest Running Solo Comedy Show, Rita Rudner, returns to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater.
The hana hou performance comes after a sold-out show on Maui in January. Guests are invited to come and enjoy stand-up comedy from this comedian, screenwriter, author, actress and mom.
A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened as one of the hottest tickets in town in June 2000, Rita Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a 14-year run and 2,000 plus shows, Rudner has sold 1.5 million tickets and become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas.
She has been named Las Vegas’s Comedian of the Year nine years in a row and in 2006 received the Nevada Ballet’s Woman of the Year award.
Rudner’s HBO specials, Born to Be Mild and Married without Children, were ratings standouts and she performed all over the country, filling Carnegie Hall in New York three times and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles twice. In 2008, Rita Rudner: Live from Las Vegas was PBS’s first ever stand-up comedy special.
Tickets are $40 and $65 (plus applicable fees) and are available starting on May 18, 2017, through the MACC Box Office, by calling 242-SHOW, or visiting MauiArts.org.
