“We had a tremendous response to the lottery held by the Kulamalu Hale Managing Agent, Hale Mahaolu, in April, however, there are still units available, especially in the 100% – 120% income limits”, says Carol Reimann, Director of Housing and Human Concerns for the County of Maui, owner of the project.
“The apartments are brand new in a beautiful upcountry location, close to shops, schools, businesses and public transportation. We anticipate a move in date of early September”, said Reimann.
Funded by the Affordable Housing Program and HOME program, a designated number of units are allocated per various income limits. Eligible incomes for the Kulamalu Hale range between 50% and 120% of the average median income. “This range allows us to reach various income brackets and provide rental amounts that fall within or even below the affordable rent guidelines”, said Reimann.
