The Maui Pearls and East Honolulu girls softball teams will compete in the first ever Hokkaido Hawaiʻi Girls Softball International Aloha Games, June 23 and 24, 2018 in Ishikari City, Hokkaido.

The benefit event will feature local nonprofit softball organizations, the Maui Pearls and East Honolulu girls softball teams, joining several Hokkaido high school softball teams in a friendly, recreational match up promoting international friendship and sportsmanship.

“Over the years, Hawaiʻi has built a deep connection with the Hokkaido community which continues to grow to this day,” said Pali Kaʻaihue of Doko Ga TV and Hokkaido-appointed Smile Ambassador. “This bond inspired us to put together an opportunity to share the aloha spirit in a new way and give our youth a chance to travel overseas, make new friends, and experience Japan for themselves.”
