Council Services, County Clerk Remains Open, Land Use Committee to Meet

The Office of Council Services and Office of the County Clerk will remain open on Wednesday and the scheduled Land Use Committee meeting will start at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber on the 8th Floor of the County Building as planned, Council Chair Mike White announced today.

White said he and staff have been closely monitoring the progressing of Hurricane Lane and consulting with emergency-management officials. Based on current forecasts and advice, it appears safe for the committee and offices to conduct their regularly scheduled business on Wednesday.

The council has been advised executive-branch agencies will close Aug. 22-24. Most floors of the County Building will be inaccessible.

Members of the public should enter the County Building on the 1st Floor to gain access to the elevator and reach the 7th and 8th Floors, which will be accessible from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Access to the 8th floor will remain open until the end of the Land Use meeting.
