During the lapse in appropriated funds, most areas of Haleakalā National Park will remain open with all park regulations and laws enforced.

Visitors are reminded that no drones are allowed in the park, camping is allowed only within designated campgrounds and speed/ traffic regulations will be enforced by the National Park Service.

Sunrise reservations are still required for entrance to the Summit District from 3 to 7 a.m. Reservations are available online. There is no entrance fee for entering the park during the partial federal shutdown. Electronic message boards, as well as signs posted on park buildings are in place to remind visitors of these conditions.

Park-specific road, weather and trail condition updates are unavailable. Visitors may want to reference the following helpful links for weather forecasts and Haleakalā weather. Park officials advise the public that emergency response maybe delayed or absent. For safety, park officials urge the public to respect all area closures.
