Maui Crisps Partners with Hawaiian Airlines to Celebrate 56th Merrie Monarch
Maui Crisps founders Blaine and Beth Apo on Wednesday welcomed Hawaiian Airlines guests traveling from Kahului, Maui to Hilo on the Island of Hawai‘i with a tasty surprise: complimentary snack bags of their artisanal beef chips.
All guests on flight HA140, including hula dancers headed to the 2019 Merrie Monarch Festival, received the special edition package, created exclusively for the 56th annual edition of the prestigious hula competition in collaboration with local printmaker Sig Zane.
In addition to having created one of The Valley Isle’s most popular treats, Blaine Apo is a former Hawaiian Airlines employee, a frequent Hawaiian Airlines Cargo customer and an avid hula dancer.
Hawaiian Airlines, a longstanding sponsor of the Merrie Monarch, introduced Maui Crisps as a snack available for purchase on the Pau Hana Cart in-flight service last month. The treats are currently available on flights between Hawai‘i and North America, as well as Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland.
