Kalani Pe‘a to Headline Benefit for Hale Makua Health Services

Two-time Grammy Award winner, Kalani Peʻa, will headline Hale Makua Health Services’ annual fundraiser, Kōkua for Kupuna.

Guests will be treated to an evening oceanfront and under the stars on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Kāʻanapali on the Ocean Lawn.

Registration will open at 5 p.m. with the formal program beginning at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser help elders and disabled individuals who cannot afford healthcare services.

Kōkua for Kupuna will also include an opening performance by Maui’s own Koa band, a Hawaiian buffet dinner, two hosted drinks, and silent auction with more than 100 items from local retailers and restaurants.

Tickets are $150 for adults, $40 for keiki 5 to 12 years old, and $1,500 for a reserved table of 10. Tickets and tables can be purchased by calling (808) 871-9271 or can be bought online.

This year’s event will honor the Sentry Tournament of Champions for their vital role and commitment in ensuring that Hale Makua is, and continues to be, a resource for generations of kupuna to come.

Hale Makua Health Services is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, established in 1946 to provide a home for elders who had no one to care for them or means to pay for care. It is one of Maui’s largest non-government employers with over 450 employees providing care for over 1,500 individuals on Maui annually.

The organization’s continuum of healthcare programs include two nursing homes and rehab centers specializing in both in and out-patient physical, occupational and speech therapies; a home health care agency; an adult day health center; and an adult residential care home.
