The state Department of Education today announced its intentions to move the Maui High School football program in “a different direction,” and search for a new head football coach.

The announcement indicates that the decision was a mutual agreement and offered thanks to Rodney Figueroa for his “dedication and effort in building the football program,” over the past three seasons as coach and co-head coach for the MHS Varsity Football team.

Maui High School is now seeking to fill the position and have set a Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 deadline for interested applicants to submit a resume to Athletic Director Michael Ban at michael.ban@k12.hi.us.

A committee will meet to select the next head football coach.
