11-Year-Old Boy Found Unresponsive in Miscellaneous Accident in Napili

Maui police classified the discovery of an 11-year-old boy found unresponsive in Napili as a Miscellaneous Accident.

On Nov. 7, 2019 at around 8 p.m., Lahaina Patrol Officers were assigned to respond to the Maui Preparatory Academy, 4910 Honoapiilani Highway in Napili, to investigate the circumstances of an 11 year old boy found unresponsive with an unknown object wrapped around his neck.

Upon Police arrival, Maui Fire Department had already taken over CPR of the boy.

Upon the arrival of medics, CPR was continued and they were able to regain a pulse. Police say the boy remained unconscious and was transported in critical condition by ambulance to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room.

At this time there are no indications of foul play. The investigation is on-going. Further details are forthcoming.
