Carpentry Program Open to Native Hawaiians on Maui, Molokaʻi

The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement is launching a new program aimed at helping Hawaiians jump start a career in carpentry.

Participants will learn industry terminology, carpentry math, safety regulations, basic tool knowledge, how to read blue prints, and how to navigate the government permitting process.

In addition, participants will earn an Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification and receive job placement assistance from industry leaders.

The program is free, but a $50 deposit will be required from each student on the first day of class, which will be returned if they comply with the participation requirements.

Participants must be 18 years old.

The program is currently only accepting applications from residents on Maui and Molokaʻi.
