Kamehameha Middle School ʻUkulele Ensemble

The Shops at Wailea welcomes the Kamehameha Middle School ʻUkulele Ensemble to The Shops on Friday, March 13 and April 17. The talented ʻukulele ensemble will perform a free concert from 6 to 7 p.m., with a portion of the special event parking fees benefiting The Shops’ monthly non-profit partners.

The Kamehameha Middle School ʻUkulele Ensemble is a faithful sound on Maui, performing for the community for 16 years and giving students a chance to share their passion for arts in the public spotlight. Locally and nationally recognized, the ensemble will showcase the unique sounds of the versatile instrument and share their talents with the public.

In an ongoing effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different charity each month with a portion of special event parking fees going to selected non-profit of the month.

The non-profit partner for the month of March is Maui Humane Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been a helping hand to the Maui community for over 60 years as Maui’s only open admission shelter. Maui Humane Society pledges to protect and save the lives of Maui’s animals and continues to inspire and educate the public on compassion.

The non-profit partner for the month of April is Imua Family Services, whose mission is to, “empower children and their families to reach their full potential.” Imua Family Services provides assistance to children and their families in overcoming developmental learning adversities in their most critical developmental years. Through the use of play-based instruction, children are able to achieve progress and move forward.

The Shops’ special events are designed to enrich the community through exploration and discovery in the arts and music, while supporting local businesses and non-profit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
